The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
This role is all about being obsessed with ensuring Zeus offers the highest level of customer service. You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring all customer sales orders are picked and processed for dispatch on time and in full. You will be responsible for managing a team of staff to pick and prepare goods for dispatch through the utilisation of the Warehouse Management System.
You will ensure sales orders are picked accurately, effectively checked and correctly secured for transit in a presentable and appropriate condition for our customer. You will ensure staff rotas are managed appropriately to accommodate peak periods, daily stock count requirements, and warehouse housekeeping. You will observe and ensure the correct level of health & safety is adopted within the work environment appropriate to company policy.
You will investigate all stock discrepancies and ensure liaison with the appropriate stakeholders - Customer Services, Logistics, Procurement & Stock Control.
Main tasks of the job:
- Management of the afternoon/evening team encompassing all operational areas within the warehouse.
- Accountable for processing and picking customer sales orders, ensuring goods are prepared for dispatch in the correct location, in the acceptable condition, secured and presented appropriately for transportation to our customer.
- You will investigate all stock discrepancies, with any delay in customer expectations being highlighted to the Customer Service / Quality Supervisor to ensure customers are engaged with to identify acceptable delay, alternative product options, and customer satisfaction is concluded.
- Any discrepancy must be highlighted with the Stock Control Team / Procurement to ensure an audit trail is reconciled for stock error.
- You will manage a suite of dashboards supplied by the WMS system highlighting productivity KPIs understanding staff pick efficiencies, peak time management, availability & pick accuracy.
- Ensure that the warehouse adheres to all health and safety legislation and that all H&S processes are documented and reviewed on a periodic basis.
- You will work with the Group Services Manager ensuring the warehouse is prepared for stock take, BRC audits, legislative audits and customer visits.
- Ensure staffing levels are managed appropriately and in line with both sales budget and sales per employee expectations.
- Ensure correct communication channels exist for all departments within the warehouse and that multi-skilling plans are continuously reviewed across all areas.
- Working closely with the management team/IT team to ensure that all IT projects are managed effectively and with appropriate documentation.
- Ensure that shift handovers are managed in the appropriate way.
- Working with the warehouse management team to support other areas of the operation as and when required.
- Ensure samples are correctly administered and leave the business with the correct paperwork.

General Qualifications & Characteristics:
- Good standard of education, self-motivated and confident - ability to influence all management levels.
- Recognised CILT/H&S qualification
- Extensive business experience in high quality organisation - knows what 'good looks like' and capable of multi-tasking.
- 'Hands on' operational experience whilst being able to think and act strategically.
Business Experience Background:
- Demonstrable experience of disciplines gained in a warehousing & distribution environment.
- Financially aware (good understanding/experience of managing budgets) and commercially astute with an analytical mind.
- Experienced user of WMS.
- Excellent man-management skills with the ability to train, develop and motivate people.
- Ability to manage third party suppliers and work in partnership to deliver outstanding results.
- Manage Supplier Goods In - Booking in and productivity of staff at peak times.
- Ability to manage under-performance through the correct company disciplinary process.
