Knowledge / Experience

  • Worked within a busy Warehouse, off-loading, loading & picking orders (min 2 years)
  • Use of hand pallet truck

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety relating to Warehousing including safe manual handling techniques

Qualifications

  • Essential: GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language (preference will be given to grade C+)
  • Desirable: Counterbalance/Reach forklift licence
  • Manual handling certificate

Components of Job

  • Understand and comply with written and verbal instructions provided on internal documents and supplier delivery notes
  • Checking quantities picked matches order requirements, recording stock movements, and conducting accurate stock counts
  • Maintaining clean, tidy, and safe work environment
  • Working within a team and assisting others within team as required
  • Fast moving demanding environment with quick turnaround of orders
  • Ability to listen and correctly interpret verbal/written information supplied
  • Communicate with Customers, and others in pleasant and professional manner
  • Lifting and carrying boxes of packaging, building pallets, and using hand pallet trucks
  • Picking and preparing customer orders for delivery plus loading lorries in safe manner
  • Assisting with incoming deliveries, off-loading vehicles, and placing in stock location
  • Transporting product on pallets within warehouse
  • Controlling stock levels, alerting Supervisor/Manager of any damage or when replenishment is required
  • Working at heights in a safe manner with aid of steps to remove products from racking
  • Operate Safe practice of work to prevent accidents
  • Understand written and verbal instructions and complete all necessary documentation
  • Prepare deliveries, receive incoming goods & conduct stock counts
  • Loading or off-loading vehicles with aid of fork truck
  • Lifting and carrying various shapes, sizes, and weights of boxes / using hand pallet truck
