As an Online Sales Executive, you will play a vital role in managing online orders and enquiries from UK foodservice web platforms, ensuring a seamless customer experience while driving online traffic and sales. You will be responsible for maintaining the online platforms to ensure accuracy and alignment with current ranges, while also maximising sales opportunities by encouraging existing customers to transition to EDI or our internal ordering portal where appropriate. Additionally, this role will support the commercial team by finalising artworks for bespoke print requests, making Adobe design skills an advantage. This role is pivotal in securing the future success of Zeus Food and shaping its continued growth trajectory.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order and Enquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all online orders and enquiries, ensuring prompt, professional, and accurate responses. Manage the full order lifecycle, from processing to fulfilment, ensuring up-to-date records in SAP and CRM. Provide customers with timely updates on order status and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Website & Online Platform Management: Work with ecommerce team to maintain and update UK foodservice web platforms to ensure content is accurate, current, and reflective of available product ranges. Work with marketing and sales colleagues to drive traffic and increase online engagement creating salient and value added content. Monitor online performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance the customer journey.
- Customer Conversion to Digital Platforms: Proactively encourage and support existing customers in transitioning to EDI or Zeus’s internal ordering portal. Provide guidance and training to ensure a smooth transition and adoption. Track usage and highlight opportunities to increase portal adoption rates.
- Sales Growth & Business Development: Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell across the Zeus product and service range. Support retention strategies through excellent service and proactive communication. Gather and share customer feedback to drive platform improvements and service excellence.
- Artwork & Design Support: Assist in finalising bespoke print artwork requests, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer specifications. Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign) to make design amendments when required. Work closely with the internal foodservice, commercial and ecommerce teams to deliver customer-focused solutions. Contribute to team meetings with updates on online activity, customer insights, and sales opportunities. Support account planning with data-driven insights to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
SCOPE OF POSITION
- Standard working hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday
- No line management responsibility.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Key Skills: Proven experience in online sales, e-commerce, or customer-facing roles. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a professional and customer-focused approach. Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/CRM systems advantageous.
- Knowledge & Experience: Minimum 1 year’s experience in online sales, customer service, or related office-based roles. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and digital sales channels. Experience managing customer enquiries via multiple channels (email, phone, online chat). Demonstrated ability to encourage digital adoption and streamline customer processes.
- Personal Attributes: Proactive and commercially minded, with a focus on service excellence. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle challenging situations diplomatically. A quick learner who can adapt to new systems and processes. Natural relationship builder, with integrity, reliability, and maturity.
