Zeus is a leading logistics technology company focused on digitising, automating, and optimising supply chains through AI-powered solutions. Our integrated platforms Zeus Command, Zeus Command AI, and Zeus Connect streamline freight operations, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and provide real-time visibility.
Founded to modernise the transport and logistics sector, Zeus has grown into one of Europe’s fastest-growing logistics tech companies, working with major enterprises across multiple countries. Backed by advanced AI and sustainable transport solutions, Zeus is shaping the future of logistics.
As we continue to scale, we’re looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help drive innovation in supply chain technology. If you’re excited about AI, automation, and revolutionising logistics, Zeus offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with leading industry expertise and state-of-the-art technology.
Zeus Labs is building the execution intelligence layer for enterprise logistics — AI that turns ERP systems and tables into self-optimising operations. You will own development and maintenance of the platform that compresses hours of manual coordination into an automated AI-driven consolidation, touching millions of shipments annually for large manufacturers and distributors moving goods across continents.
This is a rare role: production-grade AI systems (LLMs + combinatorial optimisation models) meeting enterprise integration reality (SAP ECC/S4, legacy TMS/WMS, webhook chaos). You will join a small, high-impact engineering team with plans to grow and evolve into specialised teams as we scale.
What Will You Do
- Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Own end-to-end engineering delivery across Zeus Command AI (core platform) and AI layers and agents.
- Drive planning, scoping, sequencing, sprint execution, and quality gates so work reliably ships.
- Set standards for code review, testing, definition-of-done, incident hygiene, and operational excellence.
- Contribute production code hands-on (20-30% of your time): ship features, close bugs, review/merge PRs, own complex cross-service work.
- Coach engineers through pairing, PR feedback, debugging support, and raising team capability.
- Lead integration strategy and execution with enterprise and legacy systems: ERP (SAP ECC/S/4HANA patterns), TMS, WMS, carrier/telematics platforms, customer master systems.
- Own integration architecture across: Inbound/outbound APIs (REST/JSON), event-driven messaging (queues/topics), batch feeds, file-based interfaces (S3-based exchanges), structured email fallbacks.
- Demonstrate practical experience with API management and integration middleware: API gateways, iPaaS/ESB patterns, message brokers, transformations, retries/backoff, idempotency, contract versioning.
- Lead master data management for enterprise rollouts: SKU volumetrics, locations, customer/site data, carrier contracts, slot calendars. Data quality validation, reconciliation, governance (source of truth rules, drift detection).
- Own system architecture across services, data stores, and workflows.
- Produce and maintain architecture artefacts as first-class outputs: System diagrams, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, ADRs/RFCs.
- AI Systems & Production Operations
- Own implementation quality for our AI agent flows: Tool execution safety, confirmation prompts for critical actions, bounded autonomy, deterministic fallbacks. Context/session handling (TTL memory), prompt/tool contracts, tool registry hygiene.
- Build production practices around AI: Evals, monitoring, cost controls (token budgets, caching), model routing, prompt versioning, safe rollout.
- Own production health: Logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, post-mortems.
- Work deeply with DevOps on AWS infrastructure, performance, and reliability: Containerised deployments, networking/security boundaries, secrets, scaling, environment management.
- Own cost/performance trade-offs: Cloud cost monitoring, AI cost optimisation, workload tuning, capacity planning.
- Security, Compliance & Customer-Facing Work
- Build security into architecture and delivery: Tenant isolation, secure webhook patterns (auth/signatures/allowlisting), auditability, PII minimisation.
- Lead remediation of dependency vulnerabilities and code scanning findings with measurable burn-down.
- Join customer calls to: Explain architecture and integration in plain terms, Lead technical discovery and enterprise integration planning (incl. IT/security stakeholders), Handle escalations with structured RCA and clear action plans.
- Produce enterprise-ready customer artefacts: Security overview, integration guides, interface specs, deployment runbooks.
Tech Stack & Environment
Zeus is built on a consistent TypeScript-first stack: Node.js + TypeScript for backend services, Angular (primary) and React for web UI, React Native for cross-platform mobile. Our AI/optimisation modules are a deliberate “best tool for the job” exception, implemented in Python. We run on AWS, using ECS with Fargate (multi-AZ) for containerised services.
Must-Have Experience
- 10+ years in backend/platform engineering, including at least 3 years in technical leadership (leading projects, owning architecture, or managing engineers).
- Deep hands-on experience integrating with enterprise/legacy systems: ERP (SAP ECC/S4), TMS, WMS, carrier/telematics platforms, master data domains.
- Strong integration background with API management and middleware: API gateways, iPaaS/ESB patterns, message brokers, transformation layers, contract versioning.
- Excellent technical documentation skills: diagrams and specs that engineering and customers can rely on.
- Production operations experience: logs, metrics, incidents, post-mortems, cloud cost ownership, AI cost optimisation.
Nice-to-Have
- Production LLM/agentic systems with guardrails and reliability practices.
What we offer
- Private health insurance.
- Pension plan.
- Casual dress code.
- Stocked kitchen and as much coffee & tea as you can drink.
- Your own Mac or PC laptop and software subscriptions.
- Discounted Gym memberships, a variety of virtual classes and seminars free of cost, discount coupons for all the major brands via Charlie HR perks.
- L&D via Udemy sponsored by Zeus.
- Employee Assistance Program - Provides free of cost psychological, legal and medical counselling.
