About the Role

ZETEC Recruitment are supporting an established manufacturing business with the appointment of an Engineering Supervisor. This role would suit a hands-on engineer who is ready to take on more responsibility within a maintenance and engineering team. The successful candidate will help coordinate day-to-day engineering work, support planned and reactive maintenance, and contribute to the improvement of maintenance processes across the site.

The position will involve working with internal teams and external contractors to keep equipment running effectively, support safe working practices and help improve the way maintenance activity is planned, recorded and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activity
  • Support the planning of maintenance work
  • Assist with the implementation and improvement of maintenance systems, including CMMS
  • Help maintain accurate records, schedules and work orders
  • Support planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activity
  • Assist with fault finding, repairs and corrective work
  • Provide hands-on engineering support across site equipment
  • Help improve maintenance processes and working practices
  • Support risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
  • Work with production teams, managers and contractors
  • Assist with small projects, inspections and improvement tasks
  • Identify ways to improve equipment performance, reliability and reduce downtime

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in an engineering, maintenance or manufacturing environment
  • Previous supervisory, team leader or coordination experience would be beneficial
  • Experience using, supporting or helping implement a CMMS or similar maintenance system would be advantageous
  • HNC, HND or equivalent engineering qualification would be advantageous
  • Practical engineering knowledge
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with a hands-on approach
  • Good attention to detail
  • Safety-conscious and proactive
  • Able to work well with different teams across a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to learn, develop and take ownership of maintenance improvements
