Zest4Talent is partnering with a high-growth sustainability and building performance consultancy to appoint a Senior Energy Consultant into a pivotal role within their expanding energy and compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant who wants real influence, exposure to blue-chip clients, and the chance to shape both technical delivery and future services within a modern, forward-thinking consultancy.
The Opportunity
You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of commercial and institutional assets, delivering high-impact energy and performance solutions that genuinely improve asset value, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role blends hands-on technical delivery with client leadership and product development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both consultancy and strategic input. Hybrid working is offered, with one day per week in Shrewsbury and flexibility around location for the remainder of the week.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of non-domestic EPCs using dynamic simulation tools (e.g. IES)
- Supporting and leading energy audits in line with BS EN 16247
- Developing energy efficiency and upgrade strategies across asset portfolios
- Advising clients on improving operational performance and asset ratings
- Acting as a technical lead on digital energy and portfolio tools
- Managing and nurturing key client relationships
- Contributing to new service development and business growth initiatives
- Supporting junior team members through technical leadership and mentoring
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in energy, sustainability or building performance consultancy
- Accredited Non-Domestic EPC Assessor (Level 5)
- Strong understanding of building services and building physics
- Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to a range of stakeholders
- Commercially aware, proactive, and able to manage workload independently
- Full UK driving licence
- Desirable (not essential): Experience with BREEAM, NABERS UK, or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with One Click LCA
- Professional membership (e.g. MCIBSE)
- Degree in Sustainability, Energy, Building Services or Building Physics
