Reporting into senior commercial leadership, you will be responsible for leading relationships with key accounts, identifying opportunities for expansion, and ensuring exceptional customer service across a diverse portfolio of drinks-based ingredients. You will also play an important role in supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, helping to develop their commercial skills and account management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and developing a portfolio of larger key accounts.
- Building strong, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders across customer organisations.
- Delivering sales growth, profitability, and account development plans across your portfolio.
- Identifying and securing new commercial opportunities within existing and prospective customers.
- Leading customer meetings, business reviews, negotiations, and presentations.
- Acting as a trusted commercial partner to customers, providing market insight and value-added solutions.
- Managing pricing, commercial negotiations, forecasts, and margin performance.
- Working cross-functionally to ensure excellent customer delivery.
- Supporting the development and implementation of commercial strategies across the business.
- Supporting Junior Account Managers, helping to develop their skills and commercial understanding.
- Providing guidance and leadership on customer projects while fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Utilising CRM, SAP, Microsoft Office, and internal systems to manage customer activity, reporting, and forecasting.
- Resolving commercial and supply chain challenges proactively and effectively.
- Proven experience in Account Management, National Account Management, or Business Development within the drinks, food ingredients or beverage sector. Ideally B2B account management experience.
- Experience managing large, complex customer accounts and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- A strategic thinker who can identify opportunities and drive long-term growth.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Experience supporting, coaching, or mentoring junior team members would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel for customer meetings.
