A leading FMCG manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and driven Production Supervisor to join its fast-paced operation in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised production professional with strong leadership skills and experience within manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or food production environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing production operations, coordinating teams, managing SAP processes, and ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Controller will be responsible for overseeing and optimising daily production activities across the operation. You will lead a large production team, ensure production plans are achieved, maintain stock accuracy and traceability, and drive operational performance across shift. This role requires someone who can work effectively in a fast-moving environment, make decisions quickly, and communicate confidently across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate Production Supervisors, SAP Administrators, and Production Operatives across shift
- Create and implement production plans in line with customer demand and delivery schedules
- Monitor production performance, labour utilisation, downtime, waste, and operational efficiency
- Ensure products are scanned correctly and maintain full stock and product traceability
- Lead SAP-related production processes and ensure accurate production order management
- Oversee daily production stock reconciliation and resolve stock discrepancies
- Ensure all production activities meet quality, hygiene, and Health & Safety standards
- Analyse production data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Support recruitment, training, development, and performance management across the team
- Collaborate with Warehouse, Planning, Technical, and Engineering departments to ensure operational success
About You
- Previous experience within a Production Controller, Production Supervisor, Shift Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or Manufacturing leadership role
- Experience working within FMCG, food manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or fast-paced production environments
- Strong people management experience, leading large operational teams
- Good working knowledge of SAP systems and production reporting
- Confident using Excel and other computer-based systems
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Able to react quickly and make sound operational decisions under pressure
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Passionate about driving performance, standards, and continuous improvement
