I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established, high-volume food manufacturing business in Corby for an Engineering Team Leader to join their night shift operation. This is a great move for an experienced engineering supervisor who wants to take ownership of a night shift function within a genuinely 24/7, fast-paced production environment.

The Role

You’ll lead two teams of two engineers on the Panama shift pattern (10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday), with responsibility for facility uptime and asset reliability across the site. It’s a hands-on leadership role that calls for flexibility, technical credibility, and the ability to keep a high-performing team engaged and equipped through the night.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure your teams have everything they need to succeed, including training, tools, equipment and parts
  • Balance planned preventative maintenance against breakdowns in line with OEE targets
  • Support the delivery of CAPEX projects
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and condition monitoring across the site
  • Use the site’s CMMS/CRM system to drive service levels and general management
  • Get hands-on with maintenance and repairs alongside your team when needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in an engineering leadership or supervisory role, ideally within manufacturing or food production
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance tools including PPM, RCA and condition monitoring
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • The ability to motivate and develop a team, backed by strong communication and leadership skills
  • A flexible approach, comfortable adapting to changing production needs

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £58,000 per year
  • Overtime
  • 33 days annual leave
  • Free, on-site parking
  • Subsidised on-site canteen
  • Employee discount scheme
  • Access to financial, practical and emotional wellbeing support
