A leading UK FMCG manufacturer is seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to join its engineering function. Working within a well-established food manufacturing operation, you'll lead a team of engineers, drive equipment reliability and support the delivery of production targets in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the engineering team during shift operations
- Act as the escalation point for major breakdowns and downtime incidents
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance activities safely and effectively
- Work closely with Operations to maximise equipment performance and availability
- Prioritise engineering activities to support production requirements
- Order parts and coordinate maintenance resources as required
- Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately recorded on the CMMS system
- Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong health & safety culture
About You
We're looking for a hands-on engineering leader with strong technical and people management skills. You will have:
- Previous experience leading or supervising engineers within manufacturing
- Strong electrical engineering knowledge within a multi-skilled environment
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging or other high-volume production settings
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Experience of both planned and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and communication skills
- The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced production environment
