Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer
Location: Commutable from King's Lynn, Wisbech, Downham Market, Swaffham, Norwich, Fakenham, Spalding, Peterborough, Thetford, Hunstanton, Ely, March, Dereham.

- 3s & 2s
- 4 on / 4 off
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing environment.
You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment, supporting continuous operations, and ensuring product safety and output are kept to the highest standard. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in reducing downtime, delivering engineering projects, and driving performance across the site.
The Role
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns, prioritising your production area.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and troubleshoot reoccurring faults.
- Fault find efficiently using machine history, documentation, and diagnostic tools.
- Work closely with production teams, building strong relationships and supporting smooth operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and proactively reduce engineering downtime.
- Deliver engineering project work as required.
- Carry out any other relevant engineering duties when needed.
About You
Essential
- Multi-skilled engineer who is electrically competent with mechanical skills.
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment.
- Formal mechanical and electrical engineering qualifications.
- Confident with PLC fault-finding and diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and engineering KPIs.
- Able to identify areas for performance improvement and support CI activity.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
- A proactive, self-starting engineer with a strong team ethos.
Desirable
- PLC experience
- Pneumatics & hydraulics experience
- Welding experience
- Boiler operation experience
