Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer (Days)
Salary: c.55,000
Shift Pattern: Days, 6am to 6pm, 3s and 2s (every other Friday-Sunday off)
Location: Northamptonshire
Our client is part of a large, well-known food manufacturing group. Their Northamptonshire site is growing fast. The engineering team has recently doubled in size, a new production line went in last year, and further investment is planned to expand capacity. They're now looking for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join the day team.
The Role
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across process and production equipment
- Provide breakdown cover and fault find electrical and mechanical issues to keep the site running
- Manage contractors on site and issue permits to work
- Order own spares and keep stock levels in check
- Work a 3s and 2s day pattern, 6am to 6pm, covering 7 days including bank holidays
- Use planned shutdowns, such as bank holidays when the site isn't producing, to get key work done
What We're Looking For
- A multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias
- A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent apprenticeship)
- Food manufacturing experience preferred, but process or pharmaceutical backgrounds will be considered
- Confident working independently, with strong fault-finding skills
- Organised and comfortable taking ownership of contractors, permits and spares
