A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Technical Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business. This role is ideal for a motivated technical professional looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in driving technical excellence and food safety standards across the site.

Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will support the leadership of the technical and quality function while helping to maintain the highest standards across the factory floor. You will also step up in the absence of the Technical Manager and provide guidance and direction to the wider technical team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Technical Manager in the day-to-day running of the technical and quality department
  • Lead the technical function in the absence of the Technical Manager
  • Support and manage all external audits including BRC and customer/retailer audits
  • Ensure the site remains audit-ready at all times through effective management of the internal audit schedule
  • Support customer visits and external inspections
  • Drive technical standards and continuous improvement initiatives across the factory
  • Coach, mentor and support the development of teams across the business
  • Promote a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the site
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRC and retailer standards
Requirements:
  • Proven experience within a similar Technical or Assistant Technical Manager role
