The Role
- As a Night Shift Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of a fast-paced manufacturing site during night operations.
- Working 12-hour shifts, you will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring production targets are consistently achieved.
- Carrying out both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on production equipment.
- Supporting production teams to resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively.
- Working on a variety of automated FMCG processing and packaging machinery.
- Driving continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Completing accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with site standards.
- Maintaining strict health, safety, food safety, and GMP standards at all times.
About You
- You will be a confident, hands-on engineer with strong multi-skilled capability and experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
- You should be comfortable working independently on nights and taking ownership of technical issues as they arise.
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience within FMCG, food, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- PLC fault-finding experience (advantageous).
- A proactive, calm approach under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a shift team.
