Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and capital projects from concept and specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines and delivery plans.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Manage contractors, suppliers and engineering partners throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within agreed budgets.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation, risk assessments, technical specifications and progress reports.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery, production equipment and site infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve OEE, productivity, yield, energy efficiency and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure engineering projects comply with relevant food safety, hygiene, health & safety and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate planned shutdowns and minimise disruption to production.
  • Monitor project performance, resolve issues and provide regular updates to management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ level 3 in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a projects role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
