We are partnering with a renowned and well-established client to recruit an experienced Technical Manager to lead the site Technical and Quality function. This is a key senior leadership role, sitting as part of the Site Leadership Team (SLT), with additional exposure and collaboration at Group Technical level.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic, commercially aware Technical professional who thrives in a high-profile, customer-facing role and is passionate about driving standards, performance, and culture.
The Role
As Technical Manager, you will take full ownership of the site's technical agenda, acting as the technical authority and primary point of contact for customers, retailers, and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the site Technical and Quality function, including Technical and Hygiene teams
- Acting as the front-line technical representative for customers and clients
- Delivering all site technical KPIs, ensuring targets and standards are consistently met
- Maintaining full compliance with BRC, retailer, and internal standards
- Driving continuous improvement in technical and food safety performance
- Leading and hosting retailer audits, customer visits, and external inspections
- Providing clear, visible leadership and developing a high-performing technical team
- Working collaboratively with the Group Technical function to align site and group strategy
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience in a Technical Manager role within FMCG / food manufacturing
- Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership position, ideally as part of an SLT
- A strong working knowledge of BRC standards and major retailer requirements
- A proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing teams
- Confidence and credibility in customer-facing and audit environments
- A strategic, forward-thinking mindset, with the ability to balance detail and big-picture thinking
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
Salary: Β£70,000 - Β£80,000
