We\’re recruiting on behalf of our a long standing client of ours for a Hygiene Manager to join their technical team and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of site hygiene and compliance.

The Role:
As Hygiene Manager, you\’ll lead and develop an established team of 6 hygiene operatives, reporting directly to the Technical Manager. You\’ll be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that hygiene practices meet both regulatory and customer requirements, and keeping the site audit-ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead, motivate, and develop the hygiene team (6 direct reports).
-Ensure the site is always prepared for customer visits and external audits.
-Support with customer and third-party audits, ensuring compliance with BRC and retailer standards.
-Write, update, and implement hygiene procedures and standards.
-Coordinate and manage the cleaning schedule in line with QMS requirements.
-Manage chemical suppliers, PPE, and stock control.
-Ensure effective use of CIP systems and cleaning processes.
-Drive continuous improvement across hygiene operations.
Requirements:
-Proven leadership experience in a hygiene management role within food manufacturing.
-Strong understanding of BRC and major retailer standards.
-Hands-on experience with CIP systems and hygiene management systems.
-Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
-Passion for continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
