Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and much-loved food business in Hull for an NPD Technologist to join their growing development team.

If you love getting your hands stuck into new food ideas and want to be part of the journey from lightbulb moment to launch day, this could be the perfect role for you.

Working Monday to Friday, 08:00‑17:00, you will be joining a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment where every week brings a new brief, a new flavour, or a new challenge to get stuck into.

Responsibilities

  • Turn customer briefs into exciting new products, ensuring shelf‑life, testing, and cooking instructions meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with the NPD Chef to develop new recipes that balance great taste with practical realities of consumer, customer, business, commercial, operational, nutritional and process development needs.
  • Generate detailed and accurate trial reports and records.
  • Keep up to date with customer codes of practice and brand standards.
  • Maintain awareness of packaging developments, liaising directly with suppliers.
  • Participate in benchmarking panels, sharing findings with colleagues and customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an NPD environment within UK food manufacturing.
  • Genuine passion for great food and an eye for quality.
  • Confidence to make a brilliant first impression and present yourself well.
