Multi-Skilled Shift Lead Engineer
Location: Cambridgeshire (commutable from Peterborough, Huntingdon, St Neots, Wisbech, March, Stamford, Spalding, Whittlesey, Ramsey and surrounding areas) | Salary: Up to £50,000 | Shift: 4 on 4 off, Days
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business in Cambridgeshire for a Multi-Skilled Shift Lead Engineer to join their engineering team.
This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of your shift, leading a small team while staying close to the tools. You'll be responsible for repairs, planned maintenance, and keeping things running smoothly, with real scope to shape how the shift operates.
The Role:
- Leading and managing a small team (day and night shift engineers)
- Hands-on repairs and PM work across site
- Acting as the main point of contact for your shift
- Flexible 4 on 4 off shift pattern, days
- Genuine opportunity for training and development from senior engineering management
What We're Looking For:
- Multi-skilled engineer
- NVQ Level 2 or 3, ideally with a Level 3 in Electrical
- Strong character with a proactive approach, someone who leads by example
- Food or FMCG manufacturing experience desirable, but not essential
- Someone early in their leadership journey looking for the next step
