Are you an existing Engineering Shift Manager, Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Team Leader looking for a new challenge with an established and growing food manufacturer? Our client, an international leader in their field, is currently undergoing an exciting period of investment and seeking a proactive Engineering Shift Manager to lead, develop and motivate a shift engineering team made up of an Engineering Team Leader and Multi-skilled Engineers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead from the front, ensuring production continuity and the safe, efficient operation of site assets.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the shift engineering team to maximise OEE and equipment reliability
- Ensure rapid response to breakdowns, minimising downtime and production disruption
- Plan and deliver PPM activities to a high standard
- Work closely with production and technical teams to maintain plant performance and product quality
- Support continuous improvement initiatives alongside asset care and projects teams
- Manage key engineering KPIs including downtime, PPM completion and response times
The ideal candidate:
- Time-served and qualified (minimum Level 3) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience in a leadership role such as Engineering Shift Manager, Supervisor or Team Leader
- Background in fast-paced FMCG environments (food, drink, packaging, pharma or similar)
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repair capability
- Experience using CMMS systems (e.g. Shire, Pirana, Holistic, etc.)
- Strong communicator with a proactive, hands-on leadership style
