We are recruiting a NPD Food Technologist for an award-winning food manufacturing business based in Bristol, widely recognised as one of the city's most celebrated and successful companies. This is an office-based role supporting New Product Development (NPD) and the ongoing management of existing products, playing a key part in delivering high-quality, innovative products to market.
The role will involve:
- Writing and maintaining internal and external product specifications
- Transferring specification data into customer portals
- Completing information requests and maintaining accurate databases
- Supporting innovation by contributing new product ideas aligned to customer briefs and market trends
- Sourcing ingredients and packaging from new and existing suppliers
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing recipes
- Coordinating shelf-life and nutritional testing
- Running nutritional tests
- Managing the critical path
- Supporting smooth product launches by working closely with all departments
- Setting up recipes, labelling and work instructions for production and packing teams
- Supporting audits, customer visits and ad-hoc projects
To be successful in this role, you will need previous experience within food manufacturing, ideally in NPD, Process or Technical, along with a strong understanding of food processes and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Due to the site location and occasional travel requirements, a full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential.
