Shift Pattern: Days & Nights Rotating Shifts

Are you a hands-on engineering professional looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a well-established and growing food manufacturer, is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to join their busy production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading by example. You will remain actively involved in maintenance and engineering activities while overseeing a small team of engineers, ensuring the smooth running of production operations and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, and support a small team of maintenance engineers.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of production and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure engineering activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Assist with fault finding and problem-solving on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Coordinate engineering workloads and prioritise maintenance activities.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained through the CMMS system.
  • Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Recognised engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a food or FMCG environment
  • Strong hands-on engineering background with either mechanical or electrical bias.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or leading engineers is desirable.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
