Established for 40 years, our client is one of Europe’s leading providers of research services for molecular pathology; spatial transcriptomics and proteomics; histopathology and quantitative image analysis. Serving a global client base, the company provides GLP and GCP compliant services for preclinical and clinical studies. Based in Herefordshire, the team is friendly and passionate about working with exciting new technology and developing innovative methods and techniques.

This role would suit a laboratory operations director looking to develop with the growth of the business into a longer term, more senior opportunity.

The candidate:

• Experience of managing a busy lab environment, ideally another CRO
• Exposure to histology and immunohistochemistry
• Experience of quality management systems, ideally GLP and GCP
• Experience of managing and developing teams
• Able to communicate (in written and verbal form) clearly, confidently and expertly
• Highly motivated, confident, pro‑active and able to work independently
• Able to work on site five days per week
• A science graduate with a relevant degree

The role:

• Managing the laboratory facility based in Hereford
• Supporting the Head of Molecular Pathology to manage a team of 20 scientists and technicians
• Ensuring smooth and timely delivery of client projects
• Liaison with Sponsors on technical requirements
• Participation in regulatory and Sponsor QA audits
• Ensuring compliance with GLP and GCP requirements
• Managing all operational requirements of the laboratory (with support from other team members)
