An established fresh produce business, supplying major UK retailers, is looking for an experienced Senior Quality Manager to lead its Quality and Product Management functions at a busy, fast-paced site.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who can combine strategic oversight of food safety and compliance with strong people leadership - building a high-performing team and embedding a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
The Role:
- Lead, develop and coach the Quality Team and Production Management function
- Develop and deliver the site's Quality and Compliance Strategy
- Provide governance and oversight of the site's Food Safety Management System, including HACCP, TACCP, traceability, pest management and hygiene
- Maintain BRCGS AA+ (Unannounced) and Organic certification standards
- Lead resolution of significant customer complaints and compliance issues, and support customer/third-party audits
- Own site quality performance measures and KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide oversight of the Product Management function, ensuring customer specifications and product standards are consistently met
- Work cross-functionally with Operations and Commercial teams
About You
- Proven leadership experience in a Quality/Technical/Compliance role within food manufacturing (fresh produce experience an advantage)
- Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and food safety management systems
- Track record of leading and developing teams
- Comfortable operating strategically while remaining close to day-to-day operational detail
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
