Zest Optical are currently working alongside a premium optical retailer to recruit a Retail Operations Manager into their growing head office team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative business that continues to expand across the UK and internationally.
The role sits at the heart of the retail operation, ensuring stores have the systems, processes and support they need to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Rather than managing individual store performance, this position focuses on building operational excellence across a multi-site estate, working closely with store teams and head office departments to improve efficiency, consistency and commercial performance.
- Retail Operations Manager – The Role
- Support the day-to-day operational performance of a multi-site retail estate
- Develop, implement and continually improve store processes and operating procedures
- Act as the key link between stores and head office functions including Inventory, Finance, Marketing and People teams
- Lead stock operations including stock takes, transfers, inventory accuracy and shrinkage control
- Coordinate store communications, operational projects and compliance activities
- Support new store openings from operational planning through to launch
- Work with internal stakeholders to optimise labour planning and scheduling
- Analyse operational performance, producing reports and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Drive efficiencies through technology, automation and improved workflows
- Spend at least three days each week supporting stores on-site across the group
- The Candidate
- Previous multi-site retail operations experience is essential
- Minimum of two years' experience within the optical industry
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially aware with experience analysing operational performance
- Strong understanding of retail stock management and inventory control
- Experience supporting store openings or large operational projects would be advantageous
- Confident working with retail systems, reporting and technology
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive problem solver who enjoys improving processes and finding more efficient ways of working
