An established food manufacturer is looking for a Site Technical Manager to lead the Quality and Food Safety agenda. This is an opportunity for a proven technical professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and enjoys developing people, systems, and standards.
The Role
- Lead and develop the site Technical Team to deliver outstanding food safety and quality performance.
- Champion a positive food safety culture through visible leadership and engagement across the site.
- Manage all technical compliance requirements including HACCP, internal audits, and customer and third-party audits.
- Ensure all product, process, and system standards meet both customer and legislative expectations.
- Investigate and resolve non-conformances using root cause analysis and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver continuous improvement in quality, food safety, and cost control.
- Act as the key technical contact for major retail customers, ensuring full compliance with their codes of practice.
About You
- Experience in a senior technical, QA, or quality systems role within the food manufacturing industry (chilled or fresh food experience advantageous).
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP (Level 4), Food Safety (Level 4), and internal auditing.
- Demonstrable experience of leading customer audits and maintaining BRCGS compliance.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and driving site improvements.
- A relevant food science or related degree (or equivalent practical experience).
