An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join a well-established Fresh Produce business in Essex, as part of an exciting project to build and strengthen their Quality team. This role will play a key part in maintaining and developing high quality and food safety standards across the business, while supporting the development of a newly structured quality function.

The Role

Reporting into the senior technical leadership team, the Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring robust quality systems are in place while driving standards across the site. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the site Quality team
  • Ensuring compliance with customer requirements and food safety standards
  • Maintaining and improving quality management systems
  • Supporting audits and ensuring standards are maintained across the site
  • Driving continuous improvement within quality processes
  • Working closely with production, technical, and operational teams to maintain product standards

About You

The successful candidate will have strong experience within food manufacturing or Fresh Produce, with a passion for quality and continuous improvement. You will likely have:

  • Experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role within food manufacturing or Fresh Produce
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and retailer requirements
  • Experience managing or mentoring quality teams
  • A proactive approach and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across departments
