The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and pupils within the classroom. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and classroom materials
  • Supporting pupils with varying abilities and educational needs
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Promoting pupils' confidence, independence, and wellbeing
  • Supporting children's social, emotional, and academic development

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, coaching, youth work, tutoring, or similar setting
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, patient, and caring approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
