Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Stourbridge & Surrounding Areas)

About the Role

Zest Education is recruiting motivated and confident Cover Supervisors to work within a variety of secondary schools across Stourbridge and the wider Dudley area. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or anyone with experience supporting young people—whether through coaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, or voluntary roles—who are keen to explore a future career in teaching. We partner with several friendly and forward-thinking schools in and around Stourbridge, many of which have an ongoing need for dependable Cover Supervisors. As a result, there are immediate positions available for individuals ready to make a positive impact in the classroom.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver engaging, pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
  • Create and maintain a positive, focused learning environment
  • Encourage student participation and ensure pupils stay on task
  • Provide clear written feedback for the classroom teacher
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Confidence working across different subjects and year groups
  • Classroom experience (desirable, not essential)

To be considered, you must have at least 20 days of experience working with children or young people within the last 5 years, or be a recent graduate. We particularly encourage applicants from backgrounds such as:

  • Dance/drama instructors
  • Scouts or youth group leaders
