Food Technician β Dudley
We are currently seeking a dedicated and organised Food Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in Dudley.
This is an excellent opportunity to support the Food Technology department by preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring practical lessons run smoothly.
The successful candidate will be available to start as soon as possible and will be committed to supporting the school until at least December 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for Food Technology lessons.
- Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions when required.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised food preparation environment.
- Monitoring and managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory records.
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations.
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Assisting with displays, demonstrations, and departmental administration as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Food Technician, Kitchen Assistant, Catering Assistant, or within a food preparation environment is desirable.
- Experience working in a school setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A Food Hygiene Certificate would be beneficial but is not essential.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
