About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely welcoming and inclusive school. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have experience supporting vulnerable children or young people, especially in alternative provision, support roles, SEN settings, mainstream inclusion units, or pastoral support roles. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and promote positive behaviour
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of students
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing atmosphere within the school

Requirements

  • Experience working with vulnerable children or young people
  • Background in SEN, youth work, residential care, mentoring, sports coaching, or similar roles
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
