Zest Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a school in Rubery, working within their on-site resource base. This is a rewarding position where you will provide tailored academic support and personal care to a child with additional needs, helping them to thrive in their learning environment.
This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, starting after October half-term, with ongoing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualised support as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, following the child’s education and care plan
- Work within a resource base to promote inclusion in a mainstream school setting
- Assist with daily routines, including learning activities, behaviour management, communication development, and personal care
- Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where the child can flourish academically and personally
- Relevant experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant or supporting children with special educational needs in a similar role
- Comfortable and confident providing personal care
- Good understanding of the national curriculum
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve academic success

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
