Zest Education is working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in North West London to recruit an HR Assistant to join their central administrative team. This is a full-time position starting on Monday, June 30th, 2025.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR professional or a highly competent administrator with HR exposure to take on a broad, generalist role within a busy school environment. You will be supporting the HR department with day-to-day operations, ensuring an efficient and responsive HR service across the school.
You will play a key role in staff recruitment, maintaining accurate records, supporting staff absence processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and school policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support daily HR operations in line with school policies
- Manage and maintain up-to-date employee records and HR databases
- Assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising roles, arranging interviews, and onboarding
- Monitor and log staff absences and support the School Workforce Census process
- Provide first-line support for HR queries from staff
- Ensure right to work documentation and UKBA compliance is fully up to date
- Support the wider admin team with general duties as required
- Maintain a professional and proactive approach, promoting a positive and supportive environment
About You:
We are looking for a confident, efficient and proactive individual who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team. You must be able to manage a busy workload with a high level of accuracy and discretion.
You will need:
- Strong administrative experience, ideally within an HR or education setting
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Professionalism, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of HR processes and relevant compliance would be highly beneficial
- Experience handling confidential data in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
