We are seeking passionate and reliable Teaching Assistants to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school located in Edgbaston. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with a variety of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

You will work as part of a dedicated team supporting pupils across the school day — either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups — helping them to access learning, manage their emotions, and develop social and life skills in a structured, safe, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with special educational needs to access the curriculum
  • Assist in planning and delivering learning activities under the guidance of teachers
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using appropriate strategies
  • Provide personal care support if required
  • Support pupils during classroom transitions, break and lunch times
  • Record and report on pupil progress, achievements and concerns
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere to promote pupil wellbeing

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years. The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
