Zest Education is recruiting a full time Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Reception at a supportive primary school in Tamworth starting after Easter. This is a rewarding role for someone patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting children with SEND, particularly pre-verbal communication needs. You will provide consistent 1:1 support to help the child feel safe, supported, and engaged throughout the school day, working closely with the class teacher and SEN team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pre-verbal child in Reception
- Support communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Use a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Support learning through play-based and structured activities
- Help implement individual support strategies and routines
Requirements
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or working with young children
- Ideally a L3 or equivalent in childcare
- Experience supporting SEND and/or pre-verbal children (highly desirable)
- Ability to commit to full-time hours, Monday–Friday
- Patient, resilient, and caring nature
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
