About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to practise optometry in the way many clinicians originally set out to - with time, autonomy and genuine patient connection. You will be joining a family-run domiciliary optician delivering high-quality eye care directly to patients in a care home setting. The focus is on continuity of care, clinical freedom and accessibility, rather than testing volumes or rigid KPIs.

The Role

  • Deliver comprehensive sight tests and eye health assessments in patients' care homes
  • Work one-to-one with patients in a calm, unhurried environment
  • Supported by a Dispensing Optician on visits, allowing you to focus on clinical care
  • Build long-term relationships with patients, families and care teams
  • Be part of a small, close-knit team where your input and experience are genuinely valued

About You

  • GOC-registered Optometrist
  • Patient-focused, empathetic and clinically confident
  • Enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team
  • Comfortable working in a domiciliary setting
  • Full driving licence preferred due to community-based work
