Zest Optical recruitment is working in partnership with a respected independent opticians group to recruit a Full Time Optical Assistant for their established practice in Knaphill, Woking. This is an excellent opportunity for an Optical Assistant who enjoys patient facing work and wants to develop their skills within a high quality, patient focused environment. The practice is part of a forward thinking independent group known for investing in training, development, and staff wellbeing.
Knaphill is a popular residential area just outside Woking town centre, offering a strong community feel alongside convenient transport links into Guildford and London Waterloo.
Optical Assistant - The Role
As an Optical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth day to day running of the practice while delivering a welcoming, professional experience for every patient. Responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and supporting them throughout their visit
- Supporting the dispensing process including frames, lenses, and spectacle advice
- Assisting with pre screening and basic optical checks
- Booking appointments and managing patient records
- Carrying out basic frame adjustments and minor repairs
- Supporting clinic flow to ensure appointments run smoothly
- Working closely with Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, and the wider practice team
- Maintaining high standards of customer care and compliance
This is a full time role, working 5 days per week:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Saturday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
