About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to practise optometry in the way many clinicians originally set out to - with time, autonomy and genuine patient connection. You’ll be joining a family-run domiciliary optician delivering high-quality eye care directly to patients in a care home setting. The focus is on continuity of care, clinical freedom and accessibility, rather than testing volumes or rigid KPIs.
The Role
- Deliver comprehensive sight tests and eye health assessments in patients' care homes
- Work one-to-one with patients in a calm, unhurried environment
- Supported by a Dispensing Optician on visits, allowing you to focus on clinical care
- Build long-term relationships with patients, families and care teams
- Be part of a small, close-knit team where your input and experience are genuinely valued
About You
- GOC-registered Optometrist
- Patient-focused, empathetic and clinically confident
- Enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team
- Comfortable working in a domiciliary setting
- Full driving licence preferred due to community-based work
