Zest4Talent are recruiting for a Finance Director for a charity based in Guildford Surrey. Reporting to the board of Trustees and senior management team, you will also lead a small Finance team as well as support the Chief Executive in planning strategy and ensure continued national and international success. A salary of c 80-90k per annum is on offer (negotiable) as well as excellent benefits including, partial remote working, flexible hours and 5 weeks holiday.
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Finance Director, ideally for a charity or not for profit organisation. You will be a qualified accountant (CIMA OR AAT). Previous international exposure would be helpful to drive this growing charity forward on a global level. Working knowledge of using transaction processing software would be useful. You will have an interest in health and fitness and be able to manage a small team. The culture within the office is extremely team focussed, hands on and flexible approach is essential. Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite as well as the ability to influence change where necessary. To fit in with the rest of the team within this charity, the Finance Director will be confident, self-motivated and have an interest or experience within the charity sector. You will also have a calm and methodical approach and good humoured attitude in times of pressure.
The Finance Director within this charity will be responsible for the following;
- Financial control of the charity including, financial management, annual reports and accounts, month end, Profit and Loss, budgeting and forecasting, VAT, cash handling, payroll and balance sheet.
- Identify financial opportunities for this charity including investment and fundraising.
- Work closely and strategically with the trustees and chief executive and provide reports as well as advise on key financial decisions.
- Negotiate key commercial contracts.
