We’re working with an award-winning building services consultancy that is recognised as a market leader in sustainability, low-carbon design, and net zero delivery. This is a standout opportunity for an experienced sustainability-focused mechanical design engineer to play a key role in delivering net zero and decarbonisation strategies across high-profile projects in the commercial, public sector, and healthcare sectors.

The Role

  • Leading mechanical building services design and coordination on complex projects
  • Delivering thermal modelling and energy analysis using IES VE
  • Developing decarbonisation and net zero strategies for new and existing buildings
  • Ensuring designs meet low- and net-zero carbon requirements
  • Working with AutoCAD and Revit as part of multidisciplinary project teams
  • Managing client relationships and contributing to business development
  • Mentoring junior engineers and influencing best-practice sustainable design

About You

  • Expert-level proficiency in IES VE, with demonstrable thermal modelling experience
  • Strong experience in low-carbon and decarbonisation design
  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to lead and mentor others
  • Excellent project management skills and commercial awareness

Essential Qualifications

  • LCC – Low Carbon Consultant
  • NDEA Level 5

Desirable / Advantageous

  • OCDEA
  • One Click LCA
  • NABERS
  • CP1 – Heat Networks
  • BEng or MEng (Chartered preferred)
  • MCIBSE or MIMechE (IHEEM desirable)
  • 5–10 years UK-based consultancy experience
  • Healthcare experience (HTMs/HBNs) or transferable sectors such as laboratories or cleanrooms
