Responsibilities
- Support delivery of the production plan by running equipment efficiently, completing quality and critical control checks, and maintaining accurate paperwork.
- Learn all aspects of the processing equipment to allow flexibility within the area.
- Lead the machine line to ensure it is running to its optimal capacity.
- Operate and set up production and packing machinery to required safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
- Carry out start‑ups, changeovers, adjustments and routine checks to maximise throughput and minimise waste.
- Complete cleaning, basic maintenance, quality checks and accurate shift paperwork.
- Ensure correct labelling, remove non‑conforming products and keep areas audit ready.
- Work flexibly with the team to deliver the production plan and meet production targets.
- Plan and allocate tasks to Production Operatives, support, monitor, train and control their activities to deliver the required performance.
- Act as the quality contact for the line during customer visits and audits.
Qualifications
- Experience working in food manufacturing or manufacturing.
- Experience operating processing or packing machinery.
- Experience completing quality checks and quality paperwork, including CCPs.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements (food hygiene certificate preferred).
- Comfortable using computer systems and production screens.
- Ability to work accurately with numbers and production data.
- Ability to plan and prioritise daily tasks on the line.
- Clear communication with team members and supervisors.
