Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the production plan by running equipment efficiently, completing quality and critical control checks, and maintaining accurate paperwork.
  • Learn all aspects of the processing equipment to allow flexibility within the area.
  • Lead the machine line to ensure it is running to its optimal capacity.
  • Operate and set up production and packing machinery to required safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
  • Carry out start‑ups, changeovers, adjustments and routine checks to maximise throughput and minimise waste.
  • Complete cleaning, basic maintenance, quality checks and accurate shift paperwork.
  • Ensure correct labelling, remove non‑conforming products and keep areas audit ready.
  • Work flexibly with the team to deliver the production plan and meet production targets.
  • Plan and allocate tasks to Production Operatives, support, monitor, train and control their activities to deliver the required performance.
  • Act as the quality contact for the line during customer visits and audits.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in food manufacturing or manufacturing.
  • Experience operating processing or packing machinery.
  • Experience completing quality checks and quality paperwork, including CCPs.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements (food hygiene certificate preferred).
  • Comfortable using computer systems and production screens.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and production data.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise daily tasks on the line.
  • Clear communication with team members and supervisors.
