Role Overview
As a Software Engineer focusing on silicon development methodology at zeroRISC, you will help expand the reach of open-source silicon projects like OpenTitan. You will develop adaptable design methodologies for seamless integration across various designs. You will work directly with zeroRISC customers to understand their needs and will design, implement, and maintain software tools supporting our mission of open-source silicon everywhere. We seek engineers with strong software design skills, knowledge of silicon development, enthusiasm for open-source communities, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality open-source tools that support sustainable and scalable open silicon design
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions that benefit diverse stakeholders
- Apply a practical, results-oriented engineering approach to deliver solutions rapidly and iteratively
- Engage with the open-source community through working groups and pull request reviews to advocate ideas, provide feedback, and stay updated on project trends
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
- Experience with application development in Python
- Knowledge of open-source development practices and community engagement
- Familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog and EDA tool flows, especially for design verification
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Experience working with a silicon development team
- Knowledge of SoC architecture concepts
- Familiarity with C and/or Rust programming languages
- Experience with the Bazel build system
