As a registered nurse you will be responsible for supporting the nursing team, your manager and the wider MDT in the delivery of high quality care to the dialysis patient population at King's Mill Hospital. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and adaptable individuals to join our exciting team and to help further develop the service we give to our patients. The successful candidate will be given three months' on the job training and a place on the renal foundation program.

Main duties of the job

  • The successful candidate will have the responsibility after initial training of commencement observation and termination of dialysis to a group of patients.
  • They will also be responsible for overseeing the care given by non-registered staff.
  • They will also be expected to get involved with the planning and implementation of care throughout the entire patient journey with the support of the wider MDT.

About Us

We are a nurse led unit and as such the successful candidate will be joining a hard working forward thinking team always striving to improve the standard of care we offer our patients. We work over six days Monday to Friday. Monday, Wednesday and Friday we are open from 6am to midnight. Tuesday, Thursday Saturday 6am to 7pm. We offer a combination of shifts, long days are 6am to 6pm, short days 6am to 2pm, 11am to 7pm and 4pm to midnight. We have an active shared Governance Council which provides every member of the team an opportunity to influence change within the unit.

Job responsibilities

  • Assess the care needs of patients and develop a programme of care which is evaluated and amended as appropriate.
  • Carry out relevant forms of direct and indirect patient care without direct supervision.
  • Regularly take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility or his/her deputy.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the care of non-registered staff.
