About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic and innovative team within our Paediatric and Neonatal service at Nottingham Childrens Hospital SLT service (Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust – NUH).

Employment Details

  • Permanent full-time post. Part-time working would be considered.
  • This is a Band 5 to 6 progression post and is not part of a rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage, triage and prioritise own caseload providing specialist SLT assessment, differential diagnosis, and management of communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs for neonatal and paediatric inpatients.
  • Initially based at Queens Medical Centre and City Campus Neonatal units with potential opportunities to work in the Paediatric service as you develop.
  • Collaborate with the therapies team, wider MDT and community SLT services.
  • Participate in projects, task and finish groups within the SLT service and deliver training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in speech and language therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Registered member of RCSLT.
  • Completed RCSLT NQT competencies.
  • Dysphagia trained.
  • Ideally previous paediatric experience.
