Working as part of the fibro scan team, the role will involve providing high quality admin and clerical support to community clinics that form a key part of the service. The post holder will need to use their initiative and skills to develop processes and ensure the effective provision of a quality service. Behaviour consistent with Trust values.
Main Duties of the Job
- Book new and follow‑up appointments for community and GP referred clinics using Careflow PAS or relevant electronic booking systems.
- Deal appropriately with enquiries by telephone, email and in person from staff and the general public, providing advice or referring elsewhere as necessary.
- Manage demand and capacity within the standard operating practice, taking decision to escalations to the Community Liver Co‑ordinator for capacity issues.
- Manage the national Choose and Book system (E‑Referral Service) referrals.
- Ensure all referrals are logged and booked in a timely manner meeting the standards in the NUH Access Policy.
- Print appointment/procedure confirmation letters and send to patients with relevant information leaflets promptly.
- Notify Community Liver Co‑ordinator or designated person of patients who fail to attend, taking necessary action in line with department and/or Trust policies.
- Use Medway PAS and other IT competently.
Person Specification
Essential
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above – must include English.
- Administration experience.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.
- Demonstrates understanding of patient/client confidentiality.
- Can complete letters, forms, reports and tables using computerised technology from information collected.
- Managing enquiries from patients and other clinical staff via telephone and in person.
Desirable
- NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent ECDL or equivalent.
- Previous experience of working in the NHS and experience using Winscribe, Web Hiss, Careflow and Notis.
- Understanding of Medical Terminology.
