Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities and learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of each child.
- Continuously observe, evaluate, and document children’s development, working closely with parents and carers to build a complete picture of their progress.
- Adapt your teaching style to suit different learning needs and abilities, ensuring an inclusive, nurturing environment for all children.
- Lead and motivate a team of nursery practitioners, offering guidance, support, and training to new staff and students, and clearly outlining room expectations. Make sure any children needing additional support have targets in place, and review these daily to ensure consistent progress.
- Oversee each child’s well-being, responding swiftly to any health or developmental concerns and communicating updates to parents and carers.
- Promote a positive, collaborative team atmosphere where open communication and shared commitment to the nursery’s values are encouraged.
- Complete all required paperwork, maintain accurate records, and support the nursery’s administrative duties. Attend room leader meetings and implement feedback as needed.
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers, offering regular updates on their child’s development and addressing any concerns with care and professionalism.
