The role: As a Gainshare Manager, your primary objective will be to lead a team responsible for identifying, validating, and recovering cost savings across our clients’ energy portfolios. You will oversee the entire process of gainshare (performance-based savings initiatives), from initial audit and analysis to implementation and client reporting, ensuring maximum cost recovery and contractual compliance. Your role will require deep industry knowledge, analytical acumen, and the ability to foster strong client relationships to deliver measurable savings. Key Responsibilities: *Lead and Manage the Gainshare/Recoveries Team: Oversee a team of energy analysts and recovery specialists tasked with identifying opportunities for cost savings and recoveries across client energy portfolios. *Identify and Implement Savings Opportunities: Conduct in-depth analysis of client energy usage, billing, and contracts to uncover cost-saving opportunities, including tariff optimization, contract renegotiation, error corrections, and energy efficiency initiatives. *Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients to explain findings, obtain agreement on potential savings, and ensure a collaborative approach to implementing cost recovery strategies. *Contract Management: Ensure client contracts are maximized by reviewing and analysing terms to identify gainshare opportunities and ensuring compliance with all relevant clauses. *Non Commodity validation: Analysing client billing to identify gainshare opportunities where non-commodities may be applied incorrectly. *Performance Tracking and Reporting: Develop and implement performance metrics to track savings and recoveries, producing detailed reports and insights for clients and internal stakeholders. *Financial Recovery: Oversee the full recoveries process, ensuring that any historical billing errors or overcharges are identified and reclaimed from suppliers. *Team Development: Mentor, coach, and develop team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and industry knowledge to deliver results. *Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and internal company policies. *Supplier Liaison: Work with energy suppliers to resolve disputes, correct errors, and negotiate financial recoveries on behalf of clients. *Innovation and Continuous Improvement – Industry: Stay updated on market trends, energy legislation, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in gainshare and recovery initiatives. *Innovation and Continuous Improvement – ZTP Systems & Processes: Strive for maximising efficiency and results in the Gainshare team via our in-house systems and processes. Designing and developing new functionality collaborating with ZTP directors and software developers. Key Skills and Competentcies: *Analytical Thinking: Exceptional ability to analyse complex data sets, contracts, and invoices to uncover opportunities for cost savings. *Leadership: Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on achieving financial outcomes. *Client Management: Strong client-facing skills, able to build trust and communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner. *Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating with suppliers and clients to secure financial recoveries and maximize savings. *Project Management: Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and savings initiatives simultaneously, delivering results on time and within scope. *Technical Energy Knowledge: In-depth understanding of energy billing, tariffs, contracts, and the UK energy market. Experience with both electricity and gas is highly desirable. *Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial metrics, cost modelling, and recovery processes. Experience Required: *Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial metrics, cost modelling, and recovery processes. *Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the energy industry, preferably within gainshare, recoveries, or portfolio management. *Proven experience in energy savings identification, cost recovery, and contract management. *Strong track record of leading teams to achieve performance-based targets. *Experience working with large, complex client portfolios, with a demonstrable history of delivering measurable financial savings. *Familiarity with UK energy regulations and the supplier landscape. Education and Qualification Requirements: *A-Levels *GCSE\’s (English & Maths) *Bachelors Degree would be desired/advantageous Other Characteristics: *Willingness to accept other duties as assigned. *Must be able to work with sensitive and highly confidential information.
