An established and growing manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Inspector/Engineer to join its team at its Harlow HQ. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in quality improvement, supporting cross-functional teams and helping to drive a right-first-time culture across products and processes.
You will support quality monitoring, investigation, and continuous improvement activities, helping to reduce waste and improve overall product and process performance.
- Supporting the handling of warranty claims and customer-reported quality issues
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Participating in inspection activities including Tool Proof Samples, First Product Runs and Pre-Shipment Inspections
- Supporting new product introduction through quality planning, risk assessment and DFMEA activities
- Defining and maintaining inspection standards, sampling plans and quality controls
- Providing day-to-day quality support across assembly, warehouse and production operations
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical standards
The ideal candidate will have experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of quality processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, Production Engineer or similar role
- Background in a mechanical, electrical or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical standards
- Experience using manual inspection methods and measurement equipment
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Pareto analysis and control plans
