An established and growing manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to join its team at its Harlow HQ. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in quality improvement, supporting cross-functional teams and helping to drive a right-first-time culture across products and processes.

The Role

  • You will support quality monitoring, investigation, and continuous improvement activities, helping to reduce waste and improve overall product and process performance.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the handling of warranty claims and customer-reported quality issues
  • Assisting with customer investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Participating in inspection activities including Tool Proof Samples, First Product Runs and Pre-Shipment Inspections
  • Supporting new product introduction through quality planning, risk assessment and DFMEA activities
  • Defining and maintaining inspection standards, sampling plans and quality controls
  • Analysing scrap, rework and non-conformance trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Providing day-to-day quality support across assembly, warehouse and production operations
  • Raising and managing Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs)
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across products, processes and suppliers
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical standards

The Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will have experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of quality processes and continuous improvement methodologies. You will ideally have:
  • Experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, Production Engineer or similar role
  • Background in a mechanical, electrical or manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting new product introduction and product development activities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical standards
  • Experience using manual inspection methods and measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Pareto analysis and control plans
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
