The Role:

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Windows desktop operating systems, you will provide technical leadership and advanced expertise across Zero Plus’s enterprise Windows estate, delivering 3rd line and escalation support for Windows 11, as well as lead on OS updates, software deployments, security updates, and enterprise tooling optimisation. The Senior Windows Engineer will liaise closely with downstream support teams (Service Desk, Second Line Support) and play a key role in major projects such as implementing UEM solutions, cyber security integrations, and hardware refresh programmes. You will also contribute to Zero Plus’s endpoint technology roadmap and ensure secure, user-centred design within a Zero Trust Security framework. It is essential that you have current and valid security clearance (SC) for this role due to the nature of our work.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Providing expert Technical Leadership: Acting as the SME for Windows desktop environments, you will be providing 3rd line and escalation support across enterprise estates.
• Systems & Endpoint Management: You will lead on OS patching, security updates, and software deployments using Workspace ONE (primary MDM).
• Project & Architecture Contribution: Delivering or contributing to projects including UEM deployments, cybersecurity integrations, and hardware refreshes.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Liaising with Service Desk and 2nd line teams to ensure escalations are resolved and technical knowledge is cascaded effectively.
• Service Improvement: Identifying service gaps, automate processes, and optimise tooling for scalability, compliance, and user experience.
• Security & Compliance: Embedding Zero Trust principles in all Windows engineering activity, ensuring SC-cleared standards and ISO/IEC 27001 compliance.

What we are looking for:

We would love it if you have:

• Advanced knowledge of Windows 11 desktop operating systems.
• Proven experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Advanced knowledge of Omnissa Workspace ONE (desirable) or advanced knowledge and proven experience of working with Microsoft Intune.
• CIS Policy understanding for security compliance and Vulnerability management.
• Application packaging/deployment and update management.
• A strong background in Microsoft enterprise products and endpoint security.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting (essential) for automation and secure administration.
• A broad experience across desktop support, infrastructure support, systems management, and project delivery.
• The ability to troubleshoot and independently resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience in enterprise-scale projects (hardware refreshes, migrations, UEM deployments).
• Current, valid Security Clearance (SC) with the ability to be transferred to Zero Plus (essential).
